Description
Alex Anderson (April 16th 1795 – 1884) was born in Rustico but moved to Bedeque, were he would live and die, with his family at only 2 years of age. He married Elizabeth Patten on February 5, 1829 and they would go on to have 6 children; Isabel, Margaret, Muriel, Annie, Charlotte and Alexander. He was a Presbyterian who, beginning the 1840’s, represented his riding in the legislative council of PEI, earning him the title “Honorable.” He was listed as “one of two legislative councilors for second Prince.” He was also commissioner for small debts in Bedeque but like most residents of his time he relied on farming to support his family.
