Richard Hudson (1797 – August 17th 1878) was born in Yorkshire, England and immigrated to PEI in 1814. He settled in Tryon with his wife Arabelle Baker. They had 5 children; William, Mary, James, Eliza and Jabez. He was a farmer and Methodist preacher but was also involved in the Island political scene. He was elected to the PEI legislature for two terms, 1839-1847, and served as a Magistrate and Justice of the Peace.
Richard Hudson: Born in Yorkshire England in 1797, and emigrated to Prince Edward Island in 1817 on the ship the Valliant landing in Charlottetown. Census data can not display any information on a Richard Hudson until 1901, but his mailing address listed in the 1876 Survey tells us he had lived in Tryon (Lot 28, or 21).
