Wellington Compton: Born in St. Martins, New Brunswick, February 18th 1815. Moved to Prince Edward Island and lived in Belle Creek, Lot 62, with his wife. Compton worked as a Carpenter and is proven to have lived in Belle Creek by at least the 1841 Census. Compton’s wife was most likely an Islander given his report in the 1841 Census, and both of them owned upwards of 60 acres of land and had been members of the Church of Scotland as McDonaldites[?]. Compton answered very little in his 1876 Census, but according to records he remained in Belle Creek as a Carpenter in his youth and eventually becoming a farmer by age 86 or earlier.
