Neil McCallum (1786 – May 21st 1879) was born and lived in Brackley Point. He was primarily a farmer but in his early years was involved in the ship building industry. He was a sea captain who was known to have navigated as far as the Caribbean. He married Rebecca Bovyer and they had 12 children.
Neil McCallum: Born in Brackley Point, Lot 33, in 1786. No information is known about McCallum in regards to 19th century census information. However, individuals with the same name surface by the 1881 Census in the Lot 33 area named Neil McCallum, aged 43, Neil McCallum, aged 14, and Neal McCallum, aged 40, the later being the only singularity in that both Neil aged 43 and Neil aged 14 share the same name, religion (Presbyterian) and geographical location.
