Description
Charles Ramsay (June 4th 1804 – 1889) was born in St. Eleanors but later lived in Montrose. He was a farmer.
Charles Ramsay: Born January 4th 1804 in North St. Eleanors, Lot 17, near Summerside Prince Edward Island, Charles Ramsay was a Presbyterian who had moved to Lot 3 Upper Prince County sometime before the 1861 Census. Possibly check 1841 census to confirm whether or not Ramsay was still residing in Lot 17. Ramsay was a farmer who had been living with, at the time of the 1861 census, two boys, aged somewhere been 5-16 and 15-21, three girls, aged somewhere between 1-5, 5-16, and 16-21, and two women aged 21-45. It is likely that Charles, who was 57 at the time of the census, was married to one of the women aged 21-45, or that he was living with a married couple roughly around the age of 20, however unlikely it is a possibility. Ramsay was living on 175 acres worth of land by this time and continued to live on the farm his death sometime between the 1881 and 1891 census records.
